Online job-search company and software developer SnagAJob.com has received a $27 million investment led by a California-based venture capital firm.

The Richmond area company said Wednesday that the investment will help it expand its operations, increase its marketing and possibly make acquisitions. As part of the deal, it is expanding its board of directors from five to seven members.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that the investment is led by venture capital firm August Capital, whose partners have been founding investors in companies such as Microsoft, Sun Microsystems and Skype.

SnagAJob's Website focuses on hourly jobs and has about 250,000 jobs listed with about 28 million registered users.
