Job Search Website Helps Jobseekers Track Trends Nationwide Posted: 31 Aug 2010 12:01 AM PDT JobGoRound.com, a job search web site offering job listings and advice for jobseekers, recently launched a tool that enables users to view job trends by industry and city. Denver, CO (PRWEB) August 31, 2010 -- Many jobseekers know the frustration of not being able to find a job in their hometown, or of being willing to relocate but not knowing where to look. To resolve this problem, JobGoRound.com has launched a new tool for job seekers, which allows them to track job trends in various cities across the country. "Jobseekers need to be able to determine where the jobs are, so that they make the best use of their time," said Jason Kay, owner and founder of JobGoRound.com. "Our free tool enables users to better focus their job search." JobGoRound.com's job trends tool allows users to track the jobs in their industry by city. An easy-to-read graph format shows not only how many jobs are currently available in the selected industry and city, but also how many job openings have been listed in the past. This tool allows jobseekers to track job trends in their hometown. When using the application, the user is able to choose the time frame they want to look at, ranging from the last month to the last two years. "Our users will be able to use the tool to see which industries are growing, and which are shrinking," Kay said. "This will allow them to make decisions such as whether to relocate or change careers." If relocation is in the cards, the tool will also help jobseekers decide where to look for their next job. By running the statistics in an industry for several different cities, users can compare trends in a variety of areas. "Our tool will allow jobseekers to decide where to focus their efforts, so that they don't waste time looking for a job where there aren't any," Kay said. Besides making a great comparison tool, JobGoRound.com's application also makes a great tool for determining which industries are booming and which are in a slump -- especially useful for anyone considering a new career. Instead of selecting a city, the user can simply select "All," and look at job trends for the entire nation. JobGoRound.com's trend tracker works by pulling in data from Craigslist.org. The application records the number of jobs posted each week, dividing them by city and category. When someone wants to track, say, education jobs in Denver, the data is displayed in an easy-to-read bar graph that shows the total number of jobs in that city and industry each week.
